Hello, everyone 👋
Are you just finishing your (very short) stay at SYSTEM?
Then this next session is for you! 🫵
And, of course, we’re counting on everyone! 😂
Before this year’s long-awaited SYSTEM Sunset, there’s still a bit of CSI left in all of us!
In this final CSI Caffe session of the season, we want to celebrate everyone who is now finishing their time at the center, hear a bit about your experiences and find out what’s next.
Of course, we’re also counting on everyone who’s staying on to join us for a brief reflection on this CSI season and to talk about the early days of SYSTEM’s creation.
Come along to share, listen, reflect and relax! 💡🚀
We look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday at 4.30 pm.
Cheers,
The CSI Team
Car rental and car sharing are commonly planned and operated as separate mobility services, although both rely on the same central resource: vehicles that need to be available at the right place and time. Building on a previous aggregated analysis of combined car rental and car sharing services, this thesis considers the topic from a more operational planning perspective.
The presentation gives an accessible overview of the characteristics of both services and the practical motivation for integrating them. It introduces the planning problem behind allocating a shared vehicle fleet across different types of mobility demand and explains the basic idea of the heuristic solution approach developed in the thesis. Finally, the presentation summarizes the main findings, discusses the limitations of the approach, and gives an outlook on future research and possible developments in integrated mobility services.
