Synergies in Motion: Connecting INESC TEC and Université de Lorraine through Industry 5.0

Alex Gabriel, Associate Professor at Université de Lorraine, will be joining SYSTEM for a one-month mobility period, from 2 to 30 May 2026, under the INESC TEC International Visiting Researcher Programme. 

Alex teaches at ENSGSI and conducts research at ERPI, focusing on innovation and design processes, decision-support tools, collaboration, knowledge sharing, user-centred design, UX evaluation, immersive technologies, and co-design processes. 

During his stay, hosted by Ana Simões, he will work on Human-Centric Technology Adoption in Manufacturing, with a specific focus on the adoption of XR technologies in companies aligned with the Industry 5.0 paradigm. This introductory session aims to welcome Alex to SYSTEM, briefly present his background and research interests, and create an opportunity for colleagues to identify possible links with their own work, ongoing projects, and future collaboration opportunities. The session will also be a first moment to discuss how his mobility can contribute to shared research on human-centric technology adoption, XR, and Industry 5.0, while strengthening the connection between INESC TEC and Université de Lorraine.
