Description:

This session aims to explore what cryptocurrencies are. We will start with a compact history of money and its evolution, both technological and of the monetary system. Then, we will look at Bitcoin as a new type of money, see how it works, and how it is being adopted. We will then turn to Ethereum, often described as a ‘world computer’, and which enables use cases beyond ‘money’. Hopefully, this session will spark discussion around a technology with significant economic and social implications, as it is not just money of the internet, but the internet of money.
